Or maybe it will take a couple of months to get that video

Sorry - I know I promised I'd get the tickle video up in a day or two. I'm a horrible blogger... what can I say? I'm going to make it up to you, though. I have the tickle video, Scott Dancing video, and pictures from our trip to the RenFest this summer!

Here's the tickle fight...

Scottie Dancing, RenFest - all coming up next.

Milestones a'plenty

These two have been busy. Here's a few of the things the twins have done for the first time in the last month or so...

Scott, as we told you before, has cut his first teeth. We're still sitting at two teeth right now.

They are both little wiggle worms - in their own way. Scott rolls over once, but he also does this strange (but hilarious) back-crawl thing. Nana Mueller has a jumper toy. After he used it, he figured out that he can move by pumping his legs, so he does it all the time - even when he's laying down.
We're trying to get some video of it, because it's hard to explain. He will thrust his hips up, pull his feet up near his butt with his knees up in the air. Then he'll straighten his legs and push himself forward on his back. He moves about half a body length every time he does it... so he's getting around pretty quickly these days. We laugh because it's like he's doing pool laps at night in his crib.

Hannah is rolling... and rolling... and rolling! If we set her on the floor and walk to the other side of the room... she'll just roll until she gets back to us (or whatever toy she wants). She has to be dizzy... but you can tell she's also very proud of herself.

Hannah is also getting ready to crawl! A week or two ago, Pauline notices Hannah had red marks on her knee when she woke up from a nap. It took a couple of minutes, but we finally put two-and-two together... she was scooting up onto her knees. Sure enough... later that day we saw her do it. She's even lifted herself up with her arms a few times... but hasn't quite figured the coordination thing out yet. Most of the time, she pulls herself up on her knees, then rests on her forehead and does a half-somersault, half-roll to get out of it. (Also very funny)

But the most exciting development has been their speech! Scott said "mama" this week and just yesterday Hannah said "dada". Now the battle is on to see who can say both to the right person.

Talking babies (kinda)

Ok... no real words yet, but Hannah and Scott are babbling up a storm these days! They seem to talk to each other sometimes. We recently changed the way the positiong they sleep in at night - so they have a clear line of sight to each other. Hannah didn't stop her excited shreaking for 15 minutes! The whole time Scott was just looking at her and doing his calming "hmmmm" noise. We think he's trying to calm her down.

Other times one will make some noise... then the other will respond.

Hannah is even mouthing different things without noise yet. We think she'll win the race to the first words. Who knows - Scott may surprise us!

Teeth

Scottie's second tooth is just starting to come in. We're trying to get a good picture of them to post. They're kind of cute in that "oh, the baby has teeth" sort of way.

Hannah is still toothless... but very fussy. We keep hoping that's because a tooth is imminent... not because she's just fussy.

Speaking of Hannah... she's doing well with her helmet. You can't help but smile when you see her bright eyes peering out from under that thing. Pauline has done an excellent job of decorating it - it looks beautiful.

Mobile babies

It was bound to happen. We have some mobile babies. They're not crawling - yet. But they are rolling at will now. Both Hannah and Scott are twisting around in their cribs spinning 360 degrees on their sides around the crib. They use their feet to propell them into a new position. Scott has been doing that for a month or two... but last night Hannah figured it out too.

We set them down for a nap this morning - and when I turned on the monitor, Hannah was 180 degrees from the position I layed her down in... and she had rolled onto her belly.

Oh... and Hannah has her helmet now. I'll have to post a picture of it soon. Here's a generic picture of what they look like...

Pauline has added pretty flower stickers to Hannah's helmet so hers is very beautiful now. ;-)

How's life

There's not much going on in the exciting lives of the Super Mueller Wonder Twins. Hannah is going to get her skull cap tomorrow morning. Scottie still only has 1 tooth.

Hannah (thankfully) is still toothless. Scott still enjoys putting other peoples' fingers into his mouth... but the other people enjoy it a lot less now that he has a tooth.

Pauline and I are doing fine... nothing big to report there either.

After the last year or so... it's kind of nice to have a quite stretch. ;-)

So that's what those are for!

The twins have reached another milestone - they've discovered their feet. About a week ago Hannah started playing with her toes - now she's constantly holding one or both feet.

Scott has pulled ahead in the "foot race". He was the first to put his foot in his mouth last night. (Being my son, I'm sure it won't be the last time he does that - figuratively or literally)

What's in a name?

The twins may only be 6 months old... but they already have a lot of nicknames. Here is the first installment for your enjoyment:

Hannah...
Hannah Banana
Bubbles (she loves blowing them - even when there's no spit)
Fuzzy Bubbles (long story)
Cutie
Elf / Santa's little helper (Just look at those cute ears!)

Scott...
Daddy's little linebacker (This kid is built! I have no idea where he gets it from... certainly not me!)
Little Man
New Scott / Little Scott (we already have a few in the families)
Giggles (he was the first one to start laughing)
Wiggles (I need to get this one on video. He loves to move around - sometimes 360 degrees - in his crib. It's hillarious.)

Changes...

We've had more changes than we can handle over the last year and a half! ;-) We moved to a new house... bought and sold a home... we got pregnant - with twins (well, Pauline got pregnant... but I helped)... We've changed jobs... put the kids in and pulled them out of daycare. Whew. We're ready for a calm 18 months here.

Pauline is now officially a stay-at-home mom. She's loving the time with the kids and plotting her next move. She's both looking for a new job and considering an in-home daycare.

I'm plugging away at my job. I run the voice-over department at Unity Works Media.

The twins are doing great! Scottie is laughing now. Hannah is starting to reach out when she wants to get picked up. We're starting cereals - what a joy! ;-) We're going to shoot some videos next weekend and post them so you'll have something a little more current then September to look at.

Once a month is never enough

Bad parents... bad bad parents. Pauline and I want to apologize for the folks who read this blog. We haven't been the most diligent posters recently. We hope to have that corrected soon ;-)

Now... the Super Mueller Wonder Twins 6 month update! Scott and Hannah have had a busy December. They had to get their picture taken with Santa (more on that soon). Of course there was Christmas at home... with Grandma and Grandpa Conrad... Nanna and Pop-pop Mueller. They've also had a few doctor visits.

Scott is now officially the bigger of the two - he's 26 inches long and 15 lbs, 6 oz. Hannah is about 25 1/2 inches long and 15lbs, 2 oz. They're growing up so quickly! They're already wearing their 6 month clothes and Scott could be wearing 9 month stuff by next month.

I don't want the first post back to be too large, so that's all for now. I'll have a cute Santa photo posted shortly.

Another Time Warp: they're 5 months!

Wow. Has it really been another month? We've been so crazy busy that time flies by.

For Halloween Hannah was a little black cat and Scott was a little devil. We'll post pictures.

Both of them are very strond. They have to work on their back and arm muscles (more tummy time!)

Sometimes they sleep through the night; sometimes only one does. The most they've been between feedings is 11 hours! One diaper change during the night and all was well.

In a month they're start cereal! Fun times! We hope that the'll stay fuller longer; maybe it will help them sleep through the night (cross your fingers!) More later...

Monday 11/27 they're going to start daycare! First 1 or 2 weeks will be full time (so I can catch up on sleep). Then Mon & Wed will be full day (Jason will drop them off on his way to work, about 7:00 am). Tues & Thurs will be 1/2 day. They need Mommy time too (I'd drop them off before work, about 1:30 pm). Jason will pick them up every day after work. Fridays are optional, depending on how I feel (I have Fridays off). We get care for $150/child/week. Sat & Sun they'll be home, of course

We're going to try and get pictures with Santa real soon. That will be ... well, we'll see.

-P

P.S. We really should get more posts in and more photos up.

Time Warp: 4 months old!

Happy 4 month birthday, Hannah and Scott!

Scott was weighed at the pediatrician's Friday and was just under 13 lbs. We were there because I had my first fall with him! I was so scared, but he was fine. He got an x-ray and was soooo mad at the nurses, poor little guy. I couldn't go in the room with him to limit my exposure to the radiation.

The babies are cooing and smiling now! Hannah has discovered rattles. Both love to eat their fingers.

It's been a while

Sorry for the lack of content recently. Life has been a little stressful recently. Pauline and I have been wrestling with some personal and professional issues. Between that and the little guys, there's not a lot of time left for blogging!

The twins are doing fine. They've started to sleep a really long time overnight!! For the last week Scott has slept about 8 hours... sometimes even 9! Hannah is doing better too - but she's not sleeping for that long yet. She regularly goes 6-7 hours, so there's hope!

They're getting big. During a visit to Nana Mueller's office (a medical clinic) Hannah got weighed. She was 10 lbs, 11 oz. Scott was being held so much, no one wanted to put him down long enough to be weighed (he's quite the lady's man already... takes after his dad).

We'll get official lengths and weights when they get their 4 month shots at the end of October.

That's all for now! More good stuff soon... I promise.

Almost 3 months

We are approaching 3 months! Saturday the 23rd is the big day!

They are both over 10 lbs. Big, happy babies. We'll post pictures again, I promise!

Saturday Scott and Hannah are going to Grandma and Grandpa Conrad's. Jason and I are going to take a mini-vacation and are going to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival with one of my co-workers. Okay, okay, we're horrible parents. I'll be sure to feel bad as I'm eating a giant turkey drumstick.
