Milestones a'plenty
These two have been busy. Here's a few of the things the twins have done for the first time in the last month or so...
Scott, as we told you before, has cut his first teeth. We're still sitting at two teeth right now.
They are both little wiggle worms - in their own way. Scott rolls over once, but he also does this strange (but hilarious) back-crawl thing. Nana Mueller has a jumper toy. After he used it, he figured out that he can move by pumping his legs, so he does it all the time - even when he's laying down.
We're trying to get some video of it, because it's hard to explain. He will thrust his hips up, pull his feet up near his butt with his knees up in the air. Then he'll straighten his legs and push himself forward on his back. He moves about half a body length every time he does it... so he's getting around pretty quickly these days. We laugh because it's like he's doing pool laps at night in his crib.
Hannah is rolling... and rolling... and rolling! If we set her on the floor and walk to the other side of the room... she'll just roll until she gets back to us (or whatever toy she wants). She has to be dizzy... but you can tell she's also very proud of herself.
Hannah is also getting ready to crawl! A week or two ago, Pauline notices Hannah had red marks on her knee when she woke up from a nap. It took a couple of minutes, but we finally put two-and-two together... she was scooting up onto her knees. Sure enough... later that day we saw her do it. She's even lifted herself up with her arms a few times... but hasn't quite figured the coordination thing out yet. Most of the time, she pulls herself up on her knees, then rests on her forehead and does a half-somersault, half-roll to get out of it. (Also very funny)
But the most exciting development has been their speech! Scott said "mama" this week and just yesterday Hannah said "dada". Now the battle is on to see who can say both to the right person.
